Without Borders, the Industry will turn into an Amazon.

Today, in an attempt to bring a wider variety of balance into my life I took my family downtown to visit the Mississippi water front and the Arch, but before we ventured into the heart of St. Louis we stopped by a location of the struggling book chain Borders. This particular location was closing, selling everything including fixtures, office supplies, and books at drastically reduced prices. I bought three books. One on outer space and quantum physics and the other two were books on business promotion.

As I was checking out the clerk had an attitude of defeatism. She wasn't rude, but she wasn't helpful either, and it seemed that her demeanor was directly reflective of the fact that she would soon be unemployed, and it was the clerks demeanor that got me to thinking about the relationship between the changing market place and stores like Borders. Before the last few years publishers had a hold in the market place, but with the influx of e-books and tablet computers, it was only a matter of time before brick and mortar stores like Borders or FYE gave way to Internet giants such as Amazon or Apple, but these changes didn't happen overnight and with the proper diversification there may have been something that could have been done, although it is becoming more and more likely that stores like Borders may be going the way of the Dodo Bird.

That is why The True Alchemist LLC focus on targeted social media expansion and easy, cost effective advertising to help small businesses and independent entrepreneurs to flourish in our ever changing market place. Perhaps if Borders would have reduced prices of some of their inventory to compete with Amazon long ago they might be in a better position today, but as it is, the consumer has spoken and they have decided that saving money is actually quite important.

I can't say that I could have saved those closing Borders stores, but I can say that I see the future trend of advertising and The True Alchemist LLC is ahead of the curve. To learn more about how we can help you company grow pleas email me directly or visit www.thetruealchemist.com
